The types of medicine and pharmacy information available on this service
We display the following medicine data:
Pharmacology data: Where available, we display detailed pharmacology information from DrugBank including mechanism of action, drug interactions, pharmacokinetics, toxicity data, and drug targets.
Brand search: You can search by either generic name (e.g., "ibuprofen") or brand name (e.g., "Nurofen"). Brand searches return the corresponding generic medicine with all branded versions shown on the detail page.

Controlled drug schedule information is sourced from NHS dm+d data and reflects classifications under the UK Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001. This service is for informational purposes only and does not replace professional medical advice.

The dm+d is the NHS standard for identifying medicines and medical devices. It provides unique codes and descriptions for over 100,000 products used in the NHS.
